    Blix Sol Eclipse Electric Bike
    Sol Eclipse
A classic cruiser with a cushy seat and wide-grip handlebars that give a relaxed seating position, the Sol Eclipse also delivers a lot of power. There's a bit of lag on the pedal-applied assist, but throttle response is instantaneous, making the bike feel like a quiet version of an antique motorcycle. In electric mode, it's easy to pedal on flat ground or up steep hills. Pedaling up steep hills without the electric motor is tough—the bike is heavy, and even with its 7-speed derailleur, the top gear isn't deep enough to get it going up more than a mild incline. With its big tires, the ride is super smooth, and there's a nice display that's easy to see. The brakes also work well, which is good because this bike has the gearing to fly down steep grades using pedal power (as a Class 2, electric assist only works up to about 20 mph). Best of all is the price: For a bike that offers so much power and such a fun riding experience, it can still be purchased for less than $2,000, even with a bunch of accessories (fenders, basket, etc.) added on. It's also available in a variety of bright, playful colors.
