    Diaper Bags

    Itzy Ritzy Mini Diaper Bag

This Itzy Ritzy mini diaper bag is heavy on chic appeal. It’s a mini bag with eight pockets (four inside and four outside). While you’d think that limits it to a few items, CR found that it can hold more than you may realize thanks to a U-shaped zipper that offers full access to the main compartment when unzipped. Another favorite feature of ours: Rubber feet on the bottom that help keep it upright when you need to set it down, which keeps potential scuffs and dirt at bay. The bag is lightweight, comfortable to tote, and easy to clean.

Why it’s a good deal: It’s a small discount, but a chance to save on an essential item is always worth a look.

    RUVALINO Diaper Bag Backpack

The Ruvalino Diaper Bag Backpack comes with a reasonably sized changing pad, two large zipper closure compartments, and 16 pockets. In addition to holding baby items, it can easily be used as a laptop bag, with a secure internal slot just for tech. Its main attraction is that it’s exceptionally light for the amount of storage and height you get, which means you can prioritize adding weight from items you need rather than from a bulky bag itself. The backpack straps will feel comfortable for several hours. And the polyester material is easy to spot clean.

Why it’s a good deal: With the 20 percent on-page coupon at Amazon, this is an especially great time to save.

    Bassinets

This is a budget-friendly smart bassinet with movement, sound, and light features. Movement is limited to vibration and a “sway” feature that’s so gentle, it’s barely noticeable at all. The Soothing Motions Bassinet even plays sounds and music that are supposed to chill out your baby. It also has a unique feature: a light show that projects stars onto the ceiling. It has a night light, which allows for easier diaper changes and nighttime feedings. Below the bassinet, there’s a shelf for storing diapers, pacifiers, and other baby essentials.

Why it’s a good deal: You’re saving a little more than 20 percent on this feature-packed bassinet.

The Ingenuity Dream & Grow Bedside Bassinet earns top-level marks for ease of assembly and satisfactory scores for convenience. It features an adjustable frame height with two mattress heights, the lower of which is for babies up to 12 months old. It has a two-pocket hanging organizer to store essentials and a sound feature to help soothe a baby.

Why it’s a good deal: Walmart has the lowest price right now. But we did see this bassinet sell for as low as $119.99 last month, so the price may dip again.

    Car Seats

The Chicco KeyFit infant car seat performed very well in our crash tests. Plus, it’s one of the easiest seats to install using a vehicle’s LATCH system or its safety belts. The single-pull LATCH tightening operation and the easy way the carriers click into the base are just two features that differentiate KeyFit seats from others. The KeyFit has a 22-pound weight limit.

Why it’s a good deal: We rarely see this model on sale, so even a $10 discount is a great chance to save on a top-rated infant car seat.

The Graco Milestone covers the full range of use while being less bulky and heavy than many other all-in-one models. We were successful in getting secure installations in rear- and forward-facing directions. It provided excellent belt fit in our test vehicles when used in booster mode. An impressive seat, the Milestone scored well for its performance in our challenging crash test.

Why it’s a good deal: This is an impressive discount, just $10 more than the low we saw during Prime Day.

    Strollers and Stroller Wagons

Evenflo Pivot Xplore All-Terrain Stroller Wagon

Our testers call the Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon “best for littles.” This is a very compact, foldable wagon, and it not only looks like a stroller but also operates the most like a stroller in terms of folding, storing, carrying, and driving. The passenger area is quite small, with two petite seats and a small footwell in between, and it sits pretty low to the ground, with relatively low “walls” of the wagon around it. It’s best suited for small children under 39 inches tall. There’s plenty of room for an adult to walk behind it.

Why it’s a good deal: This is $90 less than the best price we’ve seen recently, making it an excellent time to buy.

Baby Trend Expedition 2-in-1 Stroller Wagon Plus

This stroller wagon looks cool, is easy to steer, and has all the accessories to keep grown-ups and kids happy. Instead of folding for storage in the middle, like the other products we checked out, this stroller wagon collapses and flattens, which means you don’t have to remove the snack tray or even the shade in order to put it away. It also comes with a car-seat adapter with secure straps for safely attaching an infant car seat.

Why it’s a good deal: Amazon and Target have the lowest price around right now; elsewhere this wagon costs $299.99

At 18 pounds, the Chicco Liteway umbrella stroller is compact, simple to use, and folds and unfolds easily. It’s responsive and sturdy, and it maneuvers well for its small size, even on rough terrain. The basket access is limited with the seat reclined, and our diaper bag didn’t fit completely in the basket. The harness also requires some rethreading to adjust. But this stroller earns top marks for safety.

    Why it’s a good deal: A sub-$100 price for a top-rated stroller is always worth a look.

This versatile car seat carrier is compatible with a number of brands and models of infant car seats. No adapters are needed because the seats are secured with straps. Lightweight and compact, it comes with a large, easy-access basket, two cup holders, and a parent tray with a small covered compartment. You can fold it with just one hand, but you’ll need both hands to push the frame down and engage the fold lock. Small wheels make it more suited to smooth surfaces, and the front swivel wheels don’t lock. In our tests, the stroller pulled a little on turns and around corners. And its folding mechanism limits where you can place your hands to push.

Why it’s a good deal: You’re saving about 20 percent on this versatile stroller.

This Contours stroller can function as a single or double stroller, and the seats can face forward or backward. It scored extremely well for safety in our tests: It’s sturdy and features a grab bar (or “bumper bar”) for the child. It scored decently well for ease of use and maneuverability, despite being a fairly bulky stroller that would be a little tough to lift into and out of a car trunk on a regular basis.

Why it’s a good deal: This is a phenomenal new low price for this stroller, dropping $90 since last month.

    Baby Safety Gates

This pricey baby safety gate can also be used as a freestanding playpen. When used as a gate, its six sections can be used to cordon off spaces 24 inches, 48 inches, or 72 inches wide. It has a convenient self-closing/hold-open door feature. But patience is required—it can be more difficult than some other gates to install, earning only a middling score in that area.

Why it’s a good deal: You’re saving a nice chunk of cash on a top-rated model.

This baby gate is made of a mesh material rather than vertical bars so that it can retract fully to one side of the doorframe. Unrolling it is easy, too: Just press down on a button and slide the latch to the open position. It performed extremely well in our tests for security and installation, and our testers found it reasonably convenient to use. It measures 33 inches in height and can fit openings up to 55 inches wide.

Why it’s a good deal: Until recently, the sale price for this baby gate was over $50, making this a great time to buy.

There’s no easier design for a baby gate than this 30.25 Cumbor gate. With an auto-close mechanism, you can manipulate it with one hand and won’t have to worry about manually latching it correctly. It aced our tests for convenience, security, and installation, and it fits openings from 29.5 to 46 inches wide.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the usual sale price for this baby gate, and we haven’t seen it dip any lower.

    Baby Monitors

The midpriced Vava baby monitor comes with its own display and handles the video feed locally, so it doesn’t have the privacy and security issues of internet-connected models. The display unit has a large, bright, high-resolution screen. This model does lack some less important features, however, like a night light and the ability to play music. And the volume is controlled via a menu rather than physical buttons, which can be more convenient.

Why it’s a good deal: This baby monitor is now at a new low price, beating the previous low by about $10.

The Nanit Pro lacks its own display. Instead, it transmits video and audio through the company’s servers to an app on your smartphone. It’s the only one of the models with this configuration to earn a CR recommendation. But it still falls short of the best wireless security cameras in privacy and security.

Why it’s a good deal: While this is technically still a discount, the Nanit was available for $199.99 during Prime Day sales, so you may want to wait until the next big savings event.

    Humidifiers

A humidifier usually isn’t necessary for your baby’s health. But you may still want one for comfort—for instance, to make your baby’s heated room feel less dry.

On just about every measure, including moisture output and noise, the Crane Owl humidifier soars. It’s convenient to use, though not being able to get a hand into the tank for cleaning is a drawback. The 250-square-foot claimed coverage area is on the high end for a small-room model. Other animal figures in this Crane series are Wyatt the Fox, Puffington the Penguin, Misty the Unicorn, Sidney the Sheep, the Crane Train, Hello Kitty, Freddy the Frog, Mya the Monkey, Violet the Hippo, and Elliot the Elephant. They all perform similarly and may be on sale for similar prices.

Why it’s a good deal: This humidifier has been at this sale price for a long time, so it’s not a rare deal, but you definitely should never pay more than this.

The ultrasonic cool-mist PureGuardian H3200WAR is among the top-rated humidifiers for medium-sized rooms (300 to 400 square feet), hitting high notes for nearly every performance category we rate: output, convenience, noise, efficiency, and operation using hard water. But it loses points because it doesn’t have a humidistat to measure relative humidity. Online, though, you can buy a hygrometer that does that for less than $10.

Why it’s a good deal: Amazon’s sale price is now the lowest; Wayfair sold this model for $10 less last month.
